Chairman's Award - Allen Weiss

Naples, Fla. – Dr. Allen Weiss, President and CEO for NCH Healthcare System, has been recognized for his extensive support and involvement in the statewide organization, Leadership Florida, at their 2016 Annual Meeting in Orlando. Leadership Florida enhances the knowledge and leadership abilities of Florida’s leaders through educational programs and by encouraging collaborative work for the betterment of our state. This award is presented to a member whose work, in support of Leadership Florida and its programs or initiatives, went above and beyond that expected of someone serving in a volunteer capacity.

Dr. Weiss received his medical degree from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. He has led a very successful physician-hospital organization that has recently developed expertise in utilization and case management while working with physicians to measure and demonstrate quality. At the state level, Dr. Weiss led the Quality committee of the Healthy Florida Foundation that subsequently shared recommendations for evidenced-based medicine to transform healthcare. In 2008, he received Distinguished Executive of the Year recognition from the Women’s Bar Association. In 2010, he was recognized as one of the Men & Women of the Year by Gulfshore Life.

Additionally, Dr. Weiss is Treasurer and past Chairman of the Florida Hospital Association and Vice Chairman of the Upper Midwest Voluntary Hospital Association of America. He has served, or is currently, on the Boards of the Chamber of Commerce, Forum Club, Regional Advisory Council of the American Hospital Association, Wolford School for Certified Nurse Anesthesiology, Telford Board, American Momentum Bank and Leadership Florida. He is currently leading the effort to make Collier County a Blue Ribbon Zone. If achieved, Naples will be placed on the list of healthiest places to live.
