TALLAHASSEE, FL — Leadership Florida® and Volunteer Florida today announced that national bestselling author Brad Meltzer will donate books to the #BringABook service project during Leadership Florida’s 2016 Annual Meeting in Orlando. Meltzer, who is the author of ten children’s books, lives in Miami.
“Donating my books to #BringABook and knowing that they will be provided free of cost to students in need is such an honor,” said Meltzer. “It is also a way to bring a bit of light to the Orlando community as it begins to recover from the tragic events of the past two weeks.”
“Brad continues to be an extraordinary partner to Volunteer Florida and we are thrilled to have him participate in #BringABook,” said Chester Spellman, Volunteer Florida CEO. “Brad embodies the spirit of giving and we are so grateful for his generous contribution – especially at this critical time of healing, service, and coming together.”
“Brad is very special to Leadership Florida for his inspirational addresses to our membership on, What will your legacy be?, and for his and Cori’s generosity and leadership in helping to found City Year Miami,” says Wendy Walker, President of Leadership Florida. “We look forward to seeing Brad at the Leadership Florida Annual Meeting and we’re so grateful for his donation to #BringABook.”
