TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Leadership Florida Board Chair Amy Mangan presented Lila Jaber, attorney and president of LilaJaber Consulting, with the 2024 Chair’s Award at its Annual Meeting in Charlotte Harbor this past weekend.

The Chair’s Award is presented by the Leadership Florida board chair each year to a member for their unique contribution to the mission and vision of the organization or for the advancement of Florida.

“Throughout her time as a member, Lila Jaber is a testament to what great looks like for our organization,” said Mangan. “Lila has consistently demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to excellence and a remarkable ability to inspire those around her. Her genuine care and concern for the well-being of others is a poignant reminder that as leaders, we should always focus on deeds, not words. Actions matter.”

Jaber, a Lifetime Member of Leadership Florida, is a graduate of Cornerstone Class 23 and served as the organization’s board chair from 2011-2012. She is the president of LilaJaber Consulting, a strategy and business consulting firm specializing in the navigation of government processes and opportunities.

Jaber was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to the Florida Public Service Commission where she served as commissioner and chair from 1995-2005, overseeing the implementation of economic regulatory policy and procedures for the energy and natural gas industries in Florida. She later served as an equity partner at Gunster Yoakley & Stewart, P.A., where she led regulatory law and legislative government affairs in Florida.

She founded Florida's Women in Energy Leadership Forum in 2015 to celebrate the success of women leaders in the energy industry and their role in growing Florida’s economy and diversifying the workforce. In 2019, she was appointed to the Board of Directors of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation.

“A key component of Leadership Florida is the ability for our members to build their personal and professional networks in order to make positive impacts in our state,” said Wendy Spencer, president and CEO of Leadership Florida. “Lila Jaber continuously works to make Florida a better place for all its citizens. We could not be prouder to have her as this year’s recipient of the Chair’s Award.”

Jaber remains active in community leadership as a trustee on the Stetson University Board of Trustees, former vice-chair and founding member of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce, and past inaugural chair of the City of Tallahassee’s Independent Ethics Board. Most recently, she was awarded the PURC Distinguished Service Award and in 2019 was named the Lifetime Advocacy honoree by the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce. She has received the Tallahassee Women Lawyers Diversity & Inclusion Award, and in 2016, received the commission of Kentucky Colonel by Kentucky’s Governor.
