Biography
Heather is a fourth-generation educator whose journey began as a classroom teacher. Her passion for literacy led her to become a reading specialist, working at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Driven by her desire to make a broader impact, she advanced into administration, becoming an assistant principal at New Renaissance Middle School. In her current role with Broward County Public Schools, she supports the professional growth of educators through evaluations to ensure quality education.
She holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Florida A&M University and a master's degree in reading education. She later obtained an education specialist degree in educational leadership from Florida International University.
Heather is married to her husband Basil, and together they share two daughters, Daryn and Carter.
