Biography
Conor was born in Dublin, Ireland and came to Cleveland in 1999 with his family to pursue specialty training in colon and rectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. He was appointed as a staff surgeon in the Department of Colorectal Surgery, and five years later was recruited to Case Medical Center in Cleveland as chief of colorectal surgery and vice chair of surgery.
In 2015, he returned to Cleveland Clinic as chair of the Digestive Disease and Surgery Institute. In 2020 he moved to Florida as CEO and president of Cleveland Clinic Florida, which has five hospitals, 35 outpatient centers, and 11,000 caregivers who provide care to more than 750,000 patients each year across five counties along the Gold Coast. Conor has looked after thousands of patients in his practice of complex abdominal colorectal surgery, given 450 lectures around the world, and published more than 420 scientific articles and 11 books.
He and his wife Clare have two adult children who live in Cleveland, and they love playing tennis and other outdoor activities.
