Biography
For more than three decades, Vickie has been a journalist and strategic communications professional telling the story of Florida’s transformation. She spent the 13 years as a member of the University of South Florida communications team, where she served as the director of strategic communications for USF Research & Innovation and as the director of special projects in the Office of the President.
In a news career spanning more than two decades, Vickie was a reporter and editorial writer for The Tampa Tribune and the supervisory correspondent for the Associated Press in Tampa, covering significant global events such as the 2000 presidential recount in Florida and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She also served as executive editor of Florida Trend and currently reports for Forbes on women in leadership.
She is the co-author (writing fiction under the name V.C. Stanley) of the Merit Press Young Adult mystery novel "Jex Malone." She is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.
