Biography
With over 20 years in leadership and nonprofit experience, Michelle Sperzel currently serves as the CEO of Harbor House of Central Florida, where she has focused on improving processes for survivors; started conversations in our community about the epidemic; opened a temporary housing facility on the Harbor House campus, and implemented youth programs to stem the tide of violence. She has started many survivor-defined programs, including literacy, economic justice, youth and prevention, transitional housing, an on-site kennel at the emergency shelter, and an on-site mental health program. In 2009, she and her staff were presented with the Governor’s Promote Peace, Prevent Domestic Violence award for creating and implementing a model youth prevention program. Her passion is for social change work that creates advocacy for issues related to violence against women and children. Michelle is a runner and a yogi. She loves to spend time with her furry family of dogs and cats.
