Biography
In addition to her current role, Melissa is the co-facilitator for the National Association of Secondary School Principals Middle School Leaders Network. Throughout her career, she has presented at local and national conferences on innovative strategies to improve school culture and climate, student engagement, instructional leadership, and inclusion best practices.
Melissa’s community involvement includes membership on the advisory board for The Players Championship Boys and Girls Club in St. Augustine. She has served on the board of several non-profit and community organizations and recently graduated from the Leadership St. Johns program. In 2019, Melissa was recognized as one of St. Augustine’s “40 Under Forty” young professionals. She is also the recipient of the St. Johns County School District 2021 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year.
Melissa is a St. Augustine native who earned her bachelor’s degree in political science, master’s degree in elementary education, and post-master’s certificate in educational leadership from the University of North Florida.
