Biography
Carol Kay designs and facilitates professional development opportunities that are comprehensive and essential to school improvement and student achievement. She focuses on inspiring growth and increasing administrator capacity to meet the diverse needs of all students.
Carol Kay’s career started in 1998 in Hillsborough County Schools as a second-grade teacher. Her career path quickly elevated to administrative positions. She served as an assistant principal for five years and principal for seven years at the elementary level. She is currently the lead administrator for several district initiatives, district accreditation, and the implementation of the district’s strategic plan. The district initiative she is most proud to currently lead is the development and implementation of the Sarasota County Schools principal pipeline, Leadership Excellence Acceleration Pathway (LEAP), and the implementation of district-wide Professional Learning Communities.
Carol Kay is currently working towards her doctoral degree in innovative education at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
