Biography
Carlos is a career educator with over 30 years of service in Florida. He has been a classroom teacher, assistant principal of curriculum, middle school principal, and principal of the largest high school in Miami-Dade County Public Schools with a student enrollment of almost 5,000. During his tenure as a high school principal, the Dade Counseling Association awarded him the distinction of Principal of the Year and he was the recipient of Nova Southeastern University’s Cervantes Award, which recognizes educators who have made a significant contribution in the education of Hispanic students.
Carlos graduated from Barry University with a bachelor’s degree in history and earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. He has been married to his wife Maria for 38 years, has two children and two amazing grandchildren!
