Biography
Jorge A. Plasencia serves as the Global Chief Client Officer for the Havas Creative Network, where he collaborates with teams to develop engagement strategies, integrate capabilities, and identify growth opportunities for client partners worldwide. He is also the Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Miami-based Republica Havas, Havas' leading cross-cultural creative, health & wellness, media, and brand experiences agency.
Plasencia's career spans leadership roles across the media, sports, and music industries. He was Vice President and Network Operating Manager, and Vice President of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at Univision Radio. At Estefan Enterprises, he served as Vice President, overseeing marketing, business strategy, and communications, and was on the management team of major artists, such as Gloria Estefan and Shakira. He also made history as the first Director of Hispanic Marketing for a professional sports franchise, during which the Florida Marlins won its first World Series and earned the title Hispanic Marketer of the Year.
Plasencia has received numerous accolades, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, CEO of the Year Award from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Silicon Valley Latino Visionary Award, and the HPRA Pioneer of the Year Award. He was also named an Ultimate CEO by the South Florida Business Journal.
A member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Florida Council of 100, Plasencia serves as Board Chair of the Miami Dade College Foundation. He is also on the boards of PBS, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Previously, he served as Board Chair of UnidosUS, the nation’s largest Latino organization.
